As part of Scarborough Film Festival’s 2025 programme, a screening of 1993 film, Dancing Queen, shot in Scarborough and starring Rik Mayall and Helena Bonham Carter, was shown in the McCarthy cinema at the Stephen Joseph Theatre. On stage ahead of the showing, a special performance by the Funky Tuesday Choir took place, with a wonderful assortment of choral songs led by choir leader, Mark Gordon.
