Scalby Folk Festival celebrates its tenth anniversary in fine style this coming weekend, with over 40 acts gracing the festival line-up across September 4th to 6th. Starting at midday Friday, the festival runs until Sunday evening.
Taking over the outdoor stage at Scalby’s Nags Head pub on Scalby High Street, the event will once again raise money for Yorkshire children’s hospice Martin House. Over £30,000 has been raised from this annual music event over the ten year period.
Led by festival founders and musicians Pete Everitt and Dave Bell and a team of volunteers, the festival boasts a wealth of talented performers this year, including singer songwriters Carrie Martin, Jack Robertson and popular local band the Woolgatherers. Scarborough’s Ukrainian choir makes its Scalby debut joining local choir the Scalby Songbirds.
Beyond the music, the festival features:
• A 10th anniversary auction of promises – including beekeeping courses, music lessons, a house musical concert pledge, and studio time at Beckview Studios
• A special anniversary range of T shirts available to order online
• Bric a Brac and raffle prize stalls
• A commemorative festival printed programme

Co-founder Pete Everitt said “We are very lucky to have a wealth of talented musicians willing to support our event. After the first festival we were told this model of free festival was not sustainable, but after 10 successful years we have proved them wrong. We hope to continue for many years to come.”
