This is an archived post from our old website. Please excuse us if it looks a bit off, we are working through old posts and making sure they look tip top!
Regular visitors to this site may remember Alan from his Yorkshire Coast Gigs interview and his reviewed support slots for The Wanted and McFly at Scarbrough Open Air Theatre this summer. His new single, ‘Never Let You’ go is released on 17th November with a great video, which you can click on below, and we checked in with alan to see what a rollercoaster the last few months have been.
You’ve made a huge splash on the music scene this year, what’s been your highlight?
That’s a difficult one actually because there have been so many high points! I think performing before McFly was a great ‘live’ highlight but I’ve loved everything, especially the writing process. I’m forever writing so it means a lot that I can do it with a purpose now!
Tell us a bit about the process of making the video?
Making a video is a lot more complicated than I first thought, there’s an awful lot that goes on behind the scenes that you don’t see. We were so lucky, in that the weather was always great, and we had an amazing team of helpers and extras too! There is a lot of time and effort that goes into making a video, so many takes to get the different angles, but honestly, looking at the finished product, it’s all been so worth it. I can’t thank everyone that took part and helped out enough!
What’s on your to-do list for the next few months?
The next few months are going to be manic for me. After the initial push for this single, I’ve got an EP to finish and release along with another video for an acoustic recording of my song ‘One Day’. I’m also going to be doing as many gigs as I can and growing that fan base as much as possible! It’s all very exciting and I’ll keep you up to date with everything that goes on!
