Musician Connor Lawlor is hoping to make a huge impact with his debut EP, ‘Back To You’, due for release on October 26th.

Connor’s music career has gone from strength to strength since he started to pursue it in earnest, joining Westwood Performing Arts College in 2011. He has made a great name for himself around his hometown of Scarborough, performing regularly and with bookings already confirmed – both as a solo artist and in popular duo Connor & Nathen – until late next year.

Connor’s career really began to take off when he managed to secure support slots for acts such as Loveable Rouges, Marcus Collins and Max Milner during the 2012 season at the Open Air Theatre in Scarborough. He then went on to perform twice there during the summer of 2013, in front of crowds nearing 6000 people, supporting both Olly Murs and Mcfly. This year Connor was asked back specifically by Mcfly’s management team to come and support McBusted at the Scarborough segment of their tour.

The 19 year old singer/songwriter is currently working on his first EP of original music and it is set for release worldwide on 26/10/14.

Connor had this to say about the EP: “I am so excited about the release of this EP. It’s going to be my first real release and, whilst I’m hoping it will be a huge success in terms of how my audience receive it, I’m also just really thrilled to be expanding my career further by releasing original music to the world.

Releasing original music is such an amazing way of showing everyone who you are as a musician. For me, every song that I write is almost like a part of me and so although it’s amazing to be showing it to the world, it’s also kind of scary. You just hope that everyone likes what you have to offer.

For example, ‘Back To You’ is the name of my favourite track on the EP which is why I also made it the title of the EP. But because it’s my most-loved song, it’s also, in a way, the most nerve-wracking one to release. I wrote it at a really emotional time in my life and so it’s quite strange sharing that with everyone else; it’s almost like sharing your problems with the world! But I guess that’s how all songwriters work; we tend to be pretty happy people because we get most of our emotions out into the songs! Despite all of that, I really can’t wait to see what people think and hear the comments and feedback to help me focus on my next release and, hopefully, address any criticisms to ensure the next one is even better!

The EP will have 5 tracks on it. Some will be older tracks that most of you will be familiar with but there are also some totally new ones. It’s a complete mix of all the different things I do. A few pop-style songs mixed with some more obscure, deep and meaningful songs.

I just wanted to try and release a wide range of music so that I know what people would prefer to hear on the next release. Saying that, I had so much fun making this EP and I personally am really happy with all of the songs on it and so I can’t wait to hear what everybody else thinks.”

To celebrate the release of his first EP Connor is having an EP Launch Party at Beiderbecke’s Hotel on October 25th.

It will be a whole night of live entertainment, starting at 7.30pm. Other local acts and friends will be playing throughout the evening, leading up to Connor playing a big set of his original EP work and then going on to play a more energetic set with his duo partner Nathen – so make sure to put on your dancing shoes!

The night will go on until midnight when you can then officially purchase his EP online.

You can purchase tickets for the launch party for just £3 from Connor’s Facebook page, Official Website or through See Tickets. It is definitely going to be a great night so go grab your tickets while you can!

Connor Lawlor’s Debut EP ‘Back to You’ will be available to buy on 26/10/14 from Bandcamp, iTunes & Connor’s Official website.
