An event organised by Active Minds and Scene Not Herd, ‘A Night Out at the Seaside’ consisted of Bear Away, Amass (who replaced Slalom D after they had to withdraw), Active Minds and The Restarts.
All tickets for this gig had sold out well over a month before the date, such was the appetite for this punk gig, which took place at Scarborough’s Corporation Club. Being held on the eve of Scarborough Punk Festival, this, along with a number of other gigs happening in town that evening (such as Filthy Filthy and Tempersflare at Indigo Alley, and Solidarity Social featuring Graham Watson and DJ’s playing punk tunes at The Railway Club) formed something of an unofficial fringe for the festival – with all signs pointing to a healthy yearning for DIY / Punk events all year round, here beside the seaside.
