After recently winning The National Brass Band Championships, The Black Dyke Band will perform at Scarborough Spa’s Grand Hall on Saturday 29th August 2015.
The band beat scores of other bands from across the country and wowed audiences in the splendour of the Royal Albert Hall in London claiming their 23rd title, extending their record as the most successful in history.
Recognised for almost a century and a half as the world’s most famous brass band, no other ensemble in the world of music can boast such a record of innovation and success as Black Dyke.
They are the most recorded band in the world with over 350 recordings and are also the most successful contesting band in the world having won the European Championships twelve times, most recently in 2012 and the British Open no fewer than 29 times most recently 2006.
They have a staggeringly wide and eclectic range covering the whole musical spectrum, producing an abundance of famous instrumentalists and appearing with a huge cross-section of distinguished musicians from Lesley Garrett to Paul McCartney and Elton John, as well as a selection of top classical names.
