Whitby Pavilion are pleased to announce that Legendary Scottish Celtic Rock band Big Country will perform at the venue as part of their latest tour on Friday 2 May.
The band exploded onto the scene in 1983 with anthemic songs such as ‘Fields of Fire’ & ‘In A Big Country’ which were culled from their classic debut album ‘The Crossing’, which sold several million worldwide. They followed up with a number one album ‘Steeltown’. They released 8 studio albums all of which entered the Top Ten and released 28 singles 5 of which were also Top Ten.
Despite the passing of lead vocalist Stuart Adamson in 2001, the band still continue as a four piece today with original members Bruce Watson and Mark Brzezicki being joined by Bruce’s son Jamie and former Simple Minds bassist Derek Forbes.
The band will be supported by Eddie and the Hot Rods best known for their 1977 UK top ten hit “Do Anything You Wanna Do”.
