This is an archived post from our old website. Please excuse us if it looks a bit off, we are working through old posts and making sure they look tip top!

The Antiquity are from Scarborough but have been busy touring further afield, only recently debuting in their hometown. They will form part of Saturday’s line up at Valkyrian Festival at Bridlington’s Shades Nightclub this weekend.

You’ve been busy recording and touring further afield, but actually only just played your first hometown gig, at Scene Not Herd #7 at the Cask/Sigma. Was it good to finally play your hometown, or more nerve-wracking than some of those distant gigs?

We were really surprised with the turn out actually. Probably one of the best shows we have played since we started touring.
After the show we found a load of blood smeared on one of the walls, which was… nice. Crowd showed some nice commitment!

Where on tour have you most enjoyed so far?

The Riverside in Selby, some of the bands we were playing with were amazing (Black Tongue, XisForEyes). Plus the crowd was pretty huge for our set.
We also managed to all get successfully wasted afterwards!

What are you most looking forward to about Valkyrian Festival, and have any of you attended before?

Should be good! None of us have been before. We were confirmed for it before with Infinitum (our former band) but had to drop out.
We have played at Shades before though, so we know we have a bit of a following over in Bridlington, it’s going to be great to see some old faces throwing down with us!

You recently entered a competition with Immortal Press & Untraditional Productions for a chance to win a music video (filmed & edited) as well as a promo shoot & release/interview; which you happily won! When will fans likely be able to see the new video, and any hints as to what is planned?

We can’t confirm as of yet what we will actually be doing for it. But filming is going to start in January with the release following in the months after.

You’ve burst onto the scene pretty conclusively this year; what do you have planned for 2014?

We have a full-length album due out in spring, as well as a full UK tour in support of it.
We have recently released our new single ‘I Am Reborn’ via PureDeathcoreTV. This will feature on the upcoming full length album.
