Conor Maynard, Neon Jungle and Bo Bruce to support The Saturdays
at Scarborough Open Air Theatre

Explosive girl band Neon Jungle and English singer songwriter Bo Bruce will support The Saturdays at Scarborough Open Air Theatre on 23 August. They will be joined by special guest Conor Maynard, previously announced as the main support act for the event.

Neon Jungle has ripped up the girl band rulebook. Forget synchronised dance routines and matching dresses; the four girls from London, Suffolk and Scotland are blazing a trail of their own. The band came together earlier in 2013 but have forged strong bonds in a short time. Aged between 16 and 20, Shereen, Asami, Jess and Amira are like the girls making all the noise on the school bus and their attitude towards music is no different. Citing diverse influences such as Foo Fighters, Bob Marley and Italian opera by way of Beyonce, it's hard to categorise Neon Jungle, which is exactly the way they like it.

The band members differing backgrounds and tastes make for an explosive mix. 'Trouble', their debut single, is 2 minutes 32 seconds of punky, infectious music. It's chaotic and contagious at the same time and it dabbles with rap, dance and pop all tied together with a lot of attitude and teenage spirit.

As for performing live, the audience will realise that the Neon Jungle way is very different to the traditional girl band model. "We're not polished at all," says band member Jess. "We're very raw." And forget the girlie moves. "As a group, dance routines don't work for us. A routine would take away from us vibing off each other," says Amira.

28 year old Bo Bruce is known by many for her appearance on BBC's The Voice show last year where her dynamic voice and personality saw her through to the final after being mentored by The Script's Danny O'Donoghue. She came second in the show, narrowly losing out on the public vote to the big-voiced Leanne Mitchell. However soon after, Bo signed a deal with Mercury Records and released her debut album, 'Before I Sleep', in April this year. She has since teamed up with Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol on the track 'The Rage That's in Us All', which was featured on the 'Star Trek: Into Darkness' soundtrack. Born into an aristocratic family, Bo's full title is Lady Catherine Brudenell-Bruce. However she dispensed with her burdensome title to pursue her career in the music industry.

20 year old singing sensation Conor Maynard will join the support line up as special guest.

Conor has racked up 90 million combined YouTube views, nearly 1,500,000 Twitter followers and over 1,600,000 Facebook Likes. With his already impressive digital statistics continuing to sky-rocket, he has become one of pop's hottest picks.

After winning 48% of votes in MTV Brand New 2012 (beating Lana Del Ray in the process), he also won the TAG Newcomer Award 2012 at the Nordoff Robbins Silver Clef Awards. He has since played at the Royal Albert Hall and the Capital Summertime Ball at a packed Wembley Stadium, performed in Canada for Richard Branson for the inaugural Virgin Atlantic flight to Vancouver and undertaken his own five date tour. His stunning debut album, Contrast, was released last July and shot to number 1 in the UK Albums Chart.

Conor's achievements are the result of his distinctive musical merit alongside his naturally appealing personality. This summer he is appearing at music festivals up and down the UK appearing alongside some of the biggest names in the pop industry.
