Pete Storm as Elvis Presley

Pete Storm’s brand new show That’s The Way It Was comes to The Spa Bridlington on Thursday 30th June. It follows the highly successful production Elvis the Ultimate Performance, which toured Europe and reached the London Palladium in 2014.

The original show toured throughout the UK, as well as Lebanon, Memphis and Canada; finishing the tour with a headline performance at the Memphis Festival in Holland.

The new show That’s The Way It Was went straight to the West End in August 2015 with its London premiere at the Leicester Square Theatre.

You could say that nobody does Elvis better than Pete Storm. His voice, his moves, his style, even his looks – Pete has made the great man his own. As one journalist put it “You’d swear you were watching the original.”

But then, Storm has had years of successful experience. For the past six years Pete has toured throughout the UK, Europe, Australia, Japan, Brazil and America, and has headlined cruise ships around the world performing as Elvis Presley.

Now Storm takes to the road with a brand new show, Elvis: That’s The Way It Was. And it’s well worth the wait.

Possibly the most famous and hard ‘Rockin’ live performances Elvis ever made were at the Hilton International Hotel in Las Vegas. These legendary shows were captured for posterity in a Musical Documentary of Elvis’ life. After crowning himself King of Rock ‘n’ Roll only two years earlier in the 1968 Comeback Special, Elvis' own That’s the Way It Is provided the perfect glimpse of Elvis at the height of his vocal powers, an entertaining genius who, by this time, had the world at his feet.

The Vegas shows were performed on the high-energy stage; with Hollywood royalty included in the audience. That’s The Way It Was is powered by an orchestra emulating the famous Elvis sound. These live performances of Elvis were magical, even causing Elvis to say “they were the most exciting engagement I’ve ever done in my life”.

Pete Storm’s take on these memorable performances is a complete delight. The show highlights all the different guises Elvis had at his disposal. It features some of his best loved hits: 'Mystery Train/Tiger Man', 'Sweet Caroline', 'Polk Salad Annie', 'The Wonder of You' and of course the infamous song every Elvis fan wants to hear, 'Suspicious Minds'. If you like Elvis, you will love this show!
